Announcing three new releases for Q4 2026!
- FINDING OUR WORDS: Great Words of Greece and Rome - now a 2-volume set + gift for those who pre-ordered (Volume 1) (Volume 2)
- THE BURNING OF ROME: A Historical Tale of Courage and Faith - the “Quo Vadis” for our younger Winsome readers
FINDING OUR WORDS: Great Words of Greece and Rome
First and foremost, we offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who preordered FINDING OUR WORDS: Great Words of Greece and Rome, some of you more than a year ago. Your patience has allowed this project to grow into something more substantial than we first envisioned: a two-volume set, ideal for a full-year course in schools, with one volume for each semester, and rewarding reading for all who cherish learning and culture.
As a token of our gratitude, everyone who preordered before this announcement will receive both volumes for the price of the single volume already purchased.
Shown below are the updated covers, each featuring a Muse whose province reflects the spirit of the collection.
Volume I presents Calliope, the Greek Muse of epic poetry and eloquence, whose name joins kallos, “beauty,” and ops, “voice.”
Volume II presents Clio, the Muse of history, whose name derives from kleō, “to celebrate” or “to make famous.”
These two volumes, each whole and worthy to stand alone, place the inheritance of the ancient world in the reader’s hands, with Greece in Volume I and Rome in Volume II.
The entire breadth of classical learning in these two volumes (sold individually):
Philosophy • Logic • Human Nature • Statesmanship/Government/Diplomacy • Mythology • Faith • Education • Character Formation • Friendship/Love • Civic Virtue/Service • Practical Wisdom, and more.

More Rome and Early Church for Younger Readers
Readers familiar with our Classical Studies Edition of Quo Vadis: A Novel of the Time of Nero and the Early Church can look forward to a companion volume for younger readers, forthcoming from our Winsome imprint.
Alfred J. Church’s The Burning of Rome will be paired with selections from Tacitus’s Annals, the ancient history upon which both Sienkiewicz and Church drew in portraying the Great Fire of A.D. 64 and its aftermath.
This compelling tale offers an inviting introduction to the clash between ancient Rome and the emerging Christian faith, which would soon spread across the empire and far beyond its borders.
