As the Year Closes: December 2025 Updates

Some End of the Year Updates from Mount Titano & an Invitation to Gather Together

When I saw the signs of collapse in education in California 20 years ago and began researching how to homeschool, I could not have foreseen the shift that would soon take place in the public sphere. The word is out about the state of education, homeschooling rates have been skyrocketing, and classical education is making a roaring comeback.

The ways this renaissance in education will benefit the individual and society at large multiplies when... we know one anotherConsider our American Founding. A handful of extraordinary minds working together can effect great change.

In 2021, realizing that those who were taking the reins in education should know one another, I formed a classical education homeschool group in California, hosting quarterly and annual events. The participating families became fast friends and found renewed inspiration in their work.

Continuing in that work, Mount Titano Media will be participating in classical education events throughout 2026, including:

The Florida Summit on Classical Education

May 1-2, 2026 @ Florida International University in Miami

(Learn more and register at the link above. Only 300 seats available!)

Classical educators (teachers, school heads, professors, co-op leaders, supporters) will gather because—as Robert Jackson of Classical Commons says—the work we’re all doing in classrooms and communities isn’t small. It’s the kind of work Chesterton would say keeps the world from falling off its hinges. And it’s worth doing together.

We hope to see you there!

In further news: Announcing our new release, The Story of the Iliad and the Batrachomyomachia!

This MTM Classical Studies edition offers a unique reading into the Homeric Tradition—for the newcomer and those returning to Homer—with a beloved 19th century retelling of the Iliad, along with three translations of the Batrachomyomachia (The Battle of the Frogs and Mice), a satire of the Iliad beloved for centuries and essentially forgotten today.

With best wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Allison Ellis
